Colorado River Bridge

Business Route 71 at the Colorado River in Bastrop County, Bastrop, TX

History

In 1923, this trio of trusses greeted early motorists en route to downtown Bastrop. Stretching nearly one-forth mile in length, the Texas Highway Department built the monumental Parker through truss structure for $167,500.
